Seven digital artworks reimagined in the physical space of a home in Whitley Bay
ArtHouses:22 programme launched with this weekend event that invited people back to experience 7 artworks, from 7 artists, hosted in one house in Whitley Bay.
All of the artists in the exhibition were commissioned by ArtHouses during the lockdowns to make digital artworks that have been shared online and seen by people on their screens. We have now invited them back to reimagine these works outside of the screen into a family home, giving the artists the opportunity revisit these works, and consider how they function in the physical and domestic space of a home. The event creates new meeting places between visitors and the works, opening spaces for conversation and for sharing stories that extend beyond the walls of the building.
For one weekend the door of 20 Victoria Avenue was open for people to come in, and experience artworks from:
Bil Woodhouse
Dolores Ramona
Fritha Jenkins
Jen Southern
Kate Liston
Lesley Guy & Tom O'Sullivan
