ArtHouses:LOCALwifi is an arts project that invites you to connect with a network of wifi hotspots, hosted by people living in Whitley Bay. Each hotspot presents a different artwork that you can see by going to the location and viewing it on your phone from the street. Just Download the LOCALwifi app and use the map to guide you to the ten LOCALwifi hotspots.

LOCALwifi Artists are:

*Dawn Felicia Knox
*Fritha Jenkins
*Jen Southern
*Kate Liston
*Lady Kitt
*Lesley Guy & Tom O'Sullivan
*Louise Ashcroft
*Maud Haya-Baviera
*Petra Szemán
*Self Publishing Lab with lots of hands

How Does LOCALwifi work?

The best way to experience LOCALwifi is to download the app which is can be found on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

When you have downloaded it, go to Whitley Bay and use the map on the app to find the LOCALwifi hotspots. When you find one, connect your phone or tablet to the LOCAL wifi network, using your phone settings and press the yellow button in the app to view the artwork hosted on the LOCALwifi hotspot.

The video below shows how it works:
